San Antonio, TX – January 11, 2012 – Alenia North America, a subsidiary of Alenia Aermacchi and part of the Finmeccanica group, is participating in the Air Education Training Command Symposium in San Antonio on January 12-13, 2012. The symposium provides a valuable opportunity for both Air Force and industry participants to exchange ideas and learn.
In preparation for the pending T-X Air Force Trainer Replacement Program, Alenia North America is working with others in the industry and examining the Air Force’s pilot training continuum. At the Symposium, Alenia will showcase the interoperability of the Alenia T-100 Ground-Based Training System Demonstrator, which will be networked with Hawker Beechcraft’s T-6B Unit Training Device using simulation software and technologies developed by CAE. Alenia North America (Booth #928), Hawker Beechcraft (Booth #1034) and CAE (Booth #1041) will demonstrate and discuss optimizing live and virtual training across the continuum to maximize training capabilities and reduce overall pilot training costs.
In addition, Alenia will provide detailed presentations on the components that comprise the world leading T-100 Ground-Based Training System, including the TARGO Helmet Mounted Display used by the Italian Air Force in their T-346A.
