Alenia Aermacchi North America staffers had the privilege of seeing the NASA Discovery Aircraft final flight over Washington, DC this morning from our roof. The aircraft was flying to its new home at the Smithsonian Air & Space Center Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly up from Florida, on the back of a modified 787. For those of us who work in the aerospace industry, this was a real treat!
The area around the Washington Monument was packed with spectators.
Alenia was proud to present a check to the Air Force Aid Society, this year's benefactors of the Alenia SAVES program, at the Capitals game on March 23rd. We are very pleased to announce that the final total was over $20,000!!!
Alenia was proud to be a sponsor of the Washington Capitals "Salute to the Military Night," held on March 6.
From the Caps website:
"The Capitals will host their ninth Salute to the Military Night, Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at the Washington Capitals vs. Carolina Hurricanes game at Verizon Center.
This has been a very exciting time for Alenia North America. As you can see from our recent press release, ANA is currently partnering with the Washington Capitals for the Alenia SAVES program - with the current number of Saves at 1,430! That puts our donation to the Air Force Aid Society at $14,300!
