GMAS is a joint venture between L-3 Integrated Systems (a subsidiary of  L-3 Communications) and Alenia North America, Inc. (a Finmeccanica Company).

Under the Joint Venture agreement, L-3 Integrated Systems and Alenia North America jointly manage GMAS.

Headquartered in Madison, Mississippi, GMAS is responsible for supporting the training and logistical requirements of the North American fleet of C-27Js are they are delivered to the U.S. Air Force.
