The inspiration for the term, "Center of Excellence," comes from Alenia North America's parent company, Alenia Aeronautica, which boasts several such centers in Italy.  Alenia North America's Centers of Excellence focus on the following products.

A leader in Commerical Aircraft and Aerostructures

Alenia North America  and its parent company Alenia Aeronautica have worked to create strong relationships with the major aircraft manufactures in North America.  For the last 25 years we have been present in North America, supplying products to first McDonnell Douglas and now Boeing.
